Exciting news!!

Your teacher has exciting news!!

On Thursday evening, I got engaged!! My boyfriend (now fiancé!!) Mike, took me out to a nice dinner and a horse carriage ride. It was very romantic and I am so excited for what the future holds. We are planning on getting married summer of 2017.

Fairytales

This week we learned about Fairytales. I think a difficult concept for my students to grasp is what makes a story pretend. We talked about how when animals wear clothes, talk, and act like people in stories, that makes it pretend. We read several popular fairytales this week such as The Little Red Hen, The Three Bears, The Gingerbread Man, Jack and the Bean Stalk, and The Three Little Pigs.
For art this week, the students colored a picture of three little pigs and wrote what the problem and solution in the story was. This activity was differentiated by having those that could write full sentences do so and those that had lower writing skills just write a few words.

Thanksgiving Pitch-In Lunch

Thanksgiving Pitch-In Lunch

We had a nice Thanksgiving lunch with parents/family on the Wednesday before break.
Thank you to all the parents who brought in food!! Our class made some cookies and prepared the stuffing. Here are images below of our cooking time and the festivities.

Before all the families came, the students worked so nicely on some Thanksgiving worksheets.

Thanks again to all that came! :)

Circus craft

Circus Craft
The kiddos did a popcorn craft today. They cut out the popcorn containers, glued them down to a colored paper of their choice, and then glued down cotton balls. Thanks to Mr. Baird for letting us use his "pipettes" to drip yellow water on to look like butter. :)
