Jobs

Our students complete a classroom job Monday-Thursday when they get back from lunch. 

They practice household and classroom jobs such as: dusting, vacuuming, erasing the chalkboard, passing out papers, laundry, etc. 

This year I have created a job chart where I put pictures of the students' faces in their designated job spot. It is an easy way for them to find their picture and what they are supposed to do.

 

August Outings

In the month of August, our class went to McDonald's for breakfast. 

We also do other trips such as Marsh to get groceries once a week. 2 students usually go with me each week.

We go to the public library every other Tuesday afternoon. The students love to get on the computers/iPads, read books, color, and play on the Smart Pad.

Cooking- Sand Pudding

We made it through the first full week of school! Our theme last week was oceans, so we made sand pudding for our recipe during cooking. The students took turns to put blue food coloring in vanilla pudding. Then we crushed up Golden Oreos and sprinkled them on the "water" to look like sand. We topped our sand pudding with shark gummies.

Welcome back to school!

Everyone had a great first day back to school. 

I was so happy with how well everyone transitioned. :)

I got a special package delivered to me yesterday on my 1st day of school...flowers from my fiance', Mike. So sweet! :)

Zoo

Our Field Trip to the Zoo

We had a great time, all thanks to all the wonderful staff who supported our coffee cart this year! We were able to raise money for several fun activities as well as our trip to the zoo. 

We look forward to doing business with you all next year! :)

Countdown is on!

Countdown...

Everyone is starting to get excited for the end of the year.
Our countdown is on! We have been taking a chain of our colorful paper chain each day.

During SEEK, our first period of the day, my class goes to the cafeteria to do café jobs.

Today, our peer assistants wanted to take a group picture when everyone finished their jobs.

We got a nice shot! :)

Aide Appreciation Day

On Friday, I wanted to celebrate my aides, so I gave them an appreciation day.

Jill and Denise are fabulous aides and they both have big hearts for the students in my class.

I am SO fortunate to work with such great ladies everyday.

From preparing the classroom for the next day to taking over if I am absent, I know I can trust Jill and Denise and know my class is in good hands.

The students in this class are very lucky that we all work so well as a team.
